PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem wherein a spatial distribution of color data contains a bias or discontinuity because conventional compression or expansion of a color gamut is implemented by shifting or changing chromaticity points in a prescribed color space. PSOLUTION: A color conversion output device comprises a color input portion 10 for inputting color data of a first color gamut, a color gamut area discriminating portion 11 for discriminating a color gamut area of the first color gamut which is in the second color gamut from a color gamut area which is not in the second color gamut, a first color mapping portion 12 for re-mapping color data of the first color gamut as the first color data in the second color gamut according to the discrimination of the color gamut area discriminating portion 11, a second color mapping portion 13 for mapping color data of the first color gamut as the second color data in the second color gamut, a color combining portion 14 for combining the first color data and the second color data, and a color output portion 15 for outputting the color data combined by the combining portion to an output device.
