PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To precisely specify a solenoid valve which is out of order, when an abnormal phenomenon occurs in a transmission having a plurality of solenoid valves.;SOLUTION: The ECU determines whether or not an abnormal phenomenon estimated to occur due to an ON failure/OFF failure of each of the solenoids is actually present for every abnormal phenomenon. The ECU determines which combination is in agreement with the combination of the actually-occurring abnormal phenomena among the combination of the abnormal phenomena caused by the ON failure/OFF failure of each of the solenoid valves stored in advance corresponding to each of the solenoids (S500, S504, S508, S512, S516, S520, S524, S528, S532), and specifies that the ON failure/OFF failure of the solenoid corresponding to the combination determined to be in agreement with the combination stored in advance corresponding to each of the solenoids is present (S502, S506, S510, S514, S518, S522, S526, S530, S534).;COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT
