PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To remarkably shorten a computing time for a target graphic in a binarized image without impairing precision of computing the longest inter-pixel distance.;SOLUTION: An overall length detecting device comprises: a pixel extracting means extracting an contour pixel from image data; a measurement distance storing means measuring the distance between the contour pixel and all other contour pixels and storing these distance in the storage means for the extracted all contour pixels; an overall length extracting means for extracting a graphic of the maximum distance as an overall distance in the distance stored in the measurement distance storing means.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
