PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a needle point position estimating device and a needle point position estimating method, capable of accurately estimating the position of the point of a needle of a puncture device pierced into an object for puncture regardless of the structure of the puncture device.;SOLUTION: The needle point position estimating device comprises an illumination part, an image acquisition part, and a needle point position estimating part. The illumination part irradiates the needle with light. The image acquisition part acquires the image including the needle, the object for puncture to be punctured with the needle, and the needle projection image projected on the object for puncture illuminated by the illumination part. The needle point position estimating part determines an estimated position of the needle point when the object for puncture is punctured based on the image acquired by the image acquisition part and needle information.
