PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent image quality deterioration caused by interruption of writing.;SOLUTION: At least one electrode of a pair of electrodes which has a display layer and an optical conductor layer of an optically writable type display medium interposed in between, is constructed by arranging a plurality of split electrodes 50 in parallel to one another along the direction of the arrow B, and respective power receiving terminals 52 of the split electrodes 50 are arranged in such a way that a part of regions of the respective power receiving terminals 52 of the respective split electrodes 50 does not come into contact with a part of regions of power receiving terminals 52 of the adjacent split electrodes 50, but is superposed with it in the direction of the arrow B. When the display medium is transferred toward the direction of the arrow A and arrives at a power supply position of a feed roll 20, the split electrodes 50 are sequentially supplied with power via the power receiving terminals 52. On a section in which the power receiving terminals of the mutually adjacent two split electrodes 50 are superposed with each other, a voltage is simultaneously applied to the mutually adjacent two split electrodes 50 because the feed roll 20 is brought into contact with both power receiving terminals 52.
