PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for phenylhydrazonating saccharides and sugar chains while suppressing the dissociation of a sialic acid from a sialyl sugar chain in phenylhydrazonation reaction, and increasing a derivatization ratio to phenylhydrazonated saccharides and/or sugar chains by bring saccharides and/or sugar chains and phenylhydrazine into reaction in an acetic-acid/organic-base/H2O solvent or an acetic-acid/organic-base solvent, and also to provide a method for analyzing saccharides and sugar chains phenylhydrazonated by the method, and a comparison and determination method using the method.;SOLUTION: Saccharides and/or sugar chains and phenylhydrazine are brought into reaction in an acetic-acid/organic-base/H2O solvent or an acetic-acid/organic-base solvent to phenylhydrazonate the saccharides and/or the sugar chains.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
