PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for predicting deformation behavior of a recessed part, which can calculate deformation behavior of the recessed part close to a result of actual wire drawing.;SOLUTION: The prediction method predicts deformation behavior of the recessed part 7 when a wire rod W is drawn in an environment in which lubricant is placed between the wire rod W with the recessed part 7 existing on the surface and a dies D. A model for numerical analysis before drawing the wire rod W is created when there is no recessed part 7 in the wire rod W, the shape of the drawn model for numerical analysis is calculated by performing numerical analysis processing for drawing the model for numerical analysis by the dies D, mapping between an undrawn model for numerical analysis and a drawn model for numerical analysis is calculated on the basis of a result of the numerical analysis processing, and the shape of the recessed part 7 before drawing is converted into the shape of recessed part 7 after drawing on the basis of the mapping.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
