PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information providing system, etc., for providing various kinds of information by reading information printed on paper or handwritten information. PSOLUTION: A multifunction machine 1 generates bit map data, based on page configuration information received from an information providing server 2, and displays or prints the data. A user writes data onto the printed paper with a normal writing instrument, and the multifunction machine 1 reads it again. The printed paper includes code information having page identification information for specifying the page configuration information. The multifunction machine 1 analyzes the page identification information, and transmits the information to the information providing server 2 together with the read information. The information providing server 2 acquires the page configuration information specified by the page information, and generates a difference (i.e., the information handwritten by the user) from the read information.
