PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide iron-based soft magnetic powder for dust cores that restrains an iron loss (hysteresis loss + eddy current loss), has permeability having a prescribed level up to a high-frequency region, and has stable permeability, and to provide a dust core using the iron-based soft magnetic powder for dust cores.;SOLUTION: In the iron-based soft magnetic powder for dust cores for high frequencies, wherein the surface of the iron-based soft magnetic powder is coated with an insulating cover, the powder has a particle diameter of not less than 45 μm and not more than 180 μm, and the insulating cover is composed of two layers, namely a lower layer composed of a phosphoric acid-based chemical coating film and an upper layer composed of a silicone resin coating film.
