Frequency dependence of the permeability and iron loss of iron powder dust cores for high frequency applications

The frequency depenence of the complex permeability fo iron powder dust cores was calculated for two cases, asuming either intra-particle or inter-particle eddy currents. Measured values in the frequency rnage of 10-Khz-2 MHz coincided well with the calculation which, between the two cases, gave larger core losses. Accordingly the complex permeability could be precisely predicted.
