PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gene associated with brassinosteroid biosynthetic reaction.;SOLUTION: A homologous factor to a novel regulatory factor (BPR2) of brassinosteroid biosynthetic reaction and a regulatory factor (BPR1) of brassinosteroid biosynthetic reaction comprising an amino acid sequence having 43.3% or more identity to BPR1 is obtained by cloning Arabidopsis thaliana BPR2 cDNA and examining the identity to BPR1.
