PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem of a system having a storage means consisting of a plurality of storage devices wherein, if there is no enough free space in one of the storage devices or if a file of the same name as a file to be stored is already stored in the one of the storage devices, the user has to manually search for another storage device having enough free space without storing any file of the same name as the file to be stored and to select the storage device as a storage location, or he/she is forced to change the name of the file.;SOLUTION: A free space management means 5 searches for a magnetic disk where there is free space equal to or greater than the file size of the file to be stored. If the magnetic disk where there is free space equal to or greater than the file size of the file to be stored stores no file of the same name as the file to be stored, an area securement means 4 stores the file in the magnetic disk.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
