PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic thin film with which a high MR variation rate can be obtained.;SOLUTION: The magnetic thin film 15 has a pinned layer 7 whose magnetization direction is fixed with respect to an external magnetic field, a free layer 9 whose magnetization direction is changed according to the external magnetic field, and a spacer layer 8 which is sandwiched between the pinned layer 7 and the free layer 9.
