PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily judge whether a designed fire escape constructed by anti-fire partitioning of an escalator area can safely evacuate refugees including wheelchair users on fire.;SOLUTION: A first judging means 20 judges whether the height of lower end of actual smoke layer exceeds predetermined height calculated by a calculating means 18. A third judging means 26 judges whether total incident flux of radiant heat is within the tolerance level by a calculation means 24, and a fourth judging means 30 judges whether the elevation of internal temperature calculated by a calculation means 28 can give burn to the refugees. The safety of escalator fire escape is assessed based on results of judgement by the first, third, and fourth means, and a second judging means 22 that decides whether the insulating performance against smoke and flame is tolerable, assuming the presence of fire escapes formed by one or more staircases.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2000,JPO
