PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic circuit capable of taking a great number of different states or making a great number of different operating modes possible and selecting any one of them in response to at least one input through a simple method.;SOLUTION: An electronic circuit configuration (30) provided with at least one input (80; 90) and at least one output (10; 20) for selecting the state of the electronic circuit configuration is described. During an initial setting stage, the electronic circuit configuration (30) transmits a characteristic signal to at least the one output (10; 20) and compares the characteristic signal with a signal present in at least the one input (80; 90). The state of the electronic circuit configuration (30) is set by a control circuit (8) according to the comparison result.
