PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an indirect heating/drying device and a method for drying an object to be dried capable of suppressing the object to be dried from adhering to a heating pipe and obtaining a target product with stable liquid content.;SOLUTION: A first indirect heating type rotary dryer and a second indirect heating type rotary dryer are arranged in series so as to accept a dried object from the first indirect heating type rotary dryer as an object to be dried in the second indirect heating type rotary dryer for carrying out drying. The indirect heating/drying device is equipped with a supply means for supplying carrier gas. In the first indirect heating type rotary dryer, the flow of the carrier gas is made to be a concurrent flow with a flow from the object to be dried to the dried object.
