PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inexpensive wire rope isolator capable of supporting a relatively light load. ;SOLUTION: This wire rope isolator includes a wire rope and a pair of mounting blocks 1 and 5. The mounting blocks are composed of a pair of cylindrical slender tip flanges mutually tangentially connected by webs having the thickness not more than a diameter of the flanges so as to extend lower side parts of the respective flanges below the respective webs. A hole penetrates in the shaft direction through the respective flanges. The wire rope penetrates through respective flange holes so that under surfaces of the respective webs are opposed to under surfaces of the other webs and that a pair of flanges on one mounting block are offset at an angle of 90 degrees to a pair of flanges on the opposed mounting block. Four U-shaped half loops of the wire rope having deflection sufficient for imparting a resilency characteristic are formed in the wire rope.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2001,JPO
