PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a live-line tool for overhead transmission line maintenance that, ensure the insulation properties of the tool and reliably prevent an electrical accident from occurring during hot line work when, for example, crud sticking around a live part of an overhead transmission line steel tower is removed.;SOLUTION: The live-line tool is obtained by providing a tip of an operating rod with a pair of clamping arm members so formed that they can be opened and closed through a shaft portion. The operating rod is fabricated of electrically insulating material. The pair of clamping arm members are opened and closed by an external driving unit.
