PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gateway device reducing costs in a MAC address gain/a control/an operation in a GW device vendor and mandays for the control and being capable of contributing to the reduction of the exhaustion of a MAC address without having an effect on a communication.;SOLUTION: A LAN interface 31 for the GW device 3 has a MAC address (a MAC-L) not controlled by a MAC-address control machine. A MAC-address extracting function 33 reads the MAC address from an ARP table 32 generated on an Ethernet(R) communication in the LAN interface 31, and extracts the MAC address used on the WAN interface 35 side. A MAC-address set function 34 for the GW device 3 sets the MAC address extracted from the ARP table 32 to a WAN interface 35.
