PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a novel micro step method using a conventionally used circuit, and a stepping motor driven by this micro step method.;SOLUTION: All the three phases U to W are constantly kept in excited state at least when the stepping motor is driven. The rate of output of the excitation pattern in a basic step and the excitation pattern in the next basic step is varied by gradually increasing or decreasing it on a step-by-step basis. The portions between the basic steps are segmented. The PWM frequency from a constant-current control circuit 2 and the excitation pattern outputted from an excitation pattern generation circuit 1 are synchronized with each other. The number of times of the output of excitation pattern from the excitation pattern generation circuit 1 is controlled to carry out micro step driving.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI
