PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve reliability of codes to be marked and easily and accurately determine whether marked contents are correct or not. PSOLUTION: The article managing system 1 comprises a database for extracting a group of information (manufacture unique information) relating to each of articles on a marked article. The database is used to create a first code and a second code different in content by product. A two-dimensional code is created from the first code, the second code is converted into a character string code, and these codes are printed on an article or its accessory by a printer 41. When data obtained by reading the two dimensional code and input character strings are received from a user terminal 7, the second code corresponding to the read data is extracted from the database and whether the character strings obtained by converting the second code correspond to input ones or not are determined.
