PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a table editing device which provides priority in connecting directions and preferentially makes a desired connection when a table having connected cells of the same cell data is generated.;SOLUTION: The device is provided with a connecting direction setting means 13 which sets the connecting direction, a preferential direction setting means 14 which sets a row or column direction as a preferential connecting direction, a cell connecting means 15 which performs a connecting process for judging whether or not cell data of a cell adjacent to a cell in a direction wherein cells are connected are the same as the cell when connecting directions are only row or column directions and setting the connection attribute between the same cells to a connection state and performs a connecting process for all cells whose connection attributes are not the connection state in other directions after performing the connecting process in the preferential connecting direction when the connection directions are row and column directions, and a display means 16 which displays a table object after the connecting process as a table wherein a series of cells, whose connection attributes are the connection state, are connected.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
