The present invention provides a method for suppressing the expression of a target gene in a cell by introducing a domain of a protein encoded by the target gene into the cell, for example, and inhibiting the folding of the protein. The introduced domain interferes with the interaction between domains during protein folding, and the interference is inhibited by this interference. The domain can be selected, for example, from domains determined by modeling the tertiary structure of the protein.
