PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power saving rate display unit which precisely computes and displays power saving rate, and also to provide an automatic voltage controller equipped with this unit.;SOLUTION: This power saving rate display unit displays the power saving rate of the voltage controller which allows input voltage to rise and fall up to the given output voltage. In this unit, the input voltage and input current of the voltage controller are used to compute rate of change in input power consumption before and after a voltage variation at the voltage controller, while output voltage of the voltage controller is used to compute a rate of change in output voltage before and after voltage variation at the voltage controller. This change of rate for input power consumption is multiplied by that for output voltage, the result of which is defined as the power saving rate of the voltage controller.
