PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a ground liquefaction determining method for easily determining the possibility of liquefaction of a target soil stratum.;SOLUTION: According to the ground liquefaction determining method, limit values of grain size major portions obtained from a number of sand boil grain size compositions generated by an earthquake, are linearly indicated on a grain size percentage distribution figure by indicating the grain size major portions as a plurality of limit segments, wherein each limit segment indicates the grain size major portion within the range of 30 to 80% in terms of an undersize percentage. Next a sedimentation age of the target soil stratum is determined whether it belongs to juvenile ground consisting of artificially developed ground and a juvenile alluvial ground, or to ground other than the former. Then the limit value segments for use in comparison with the grain size composition of a sample of the ground are selected, and the grain size composition of the sample is compared with the limit value segments, based on crossing between the same, to thereby determine the possibility of liquefaction of the target soil stratum.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
