PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a motor-operated accommodation device for a vehicle prevented from tumbling backward caused by a wind pressure without changing the clutch force when the spring load is changed or a collision impact is to be avoided.;SOLUTION: The motor-operated accommodation device for the vehicle is equipped with a driving mechanism 45 which is to drive electrically a shaft 21 bearing an outer mirror 12 and rotate it between the service position and the accommodation position and is furnished at least with a worm gear 51 to transmit the rotation of a motor, a helical gear 41 meshed with the worm gear 51 and inserted to the shaft 21 in such a way as slidable in its axial direction and a clutch holder engaged with the helical gear 41 for transmitting the torque to the shaft 21, wherein the twisting directions of the helical gear 41 and the worm gear 51 are set so that the torque in the direction against the wind pressure flowing from ahead of the vehicle to behind is generated in the shaft 21 by the motion of the helical gear 41 relative to the worm gear 51 on the basis of the vehicle vibration.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
