METHOD OF DETERMINING A WARFARINE DOSE RANGE FOR AN INDIVIDUAL, KIT FOR DETERMINING A WARFARINE DOSE RANGE, OLIGONUCLEOTIDE OR COMPLEMENT OF THE SAME, AND OLIGONUCLEOTIDE ARRANGEMENT. Applicants have found that a polymorphism in the VKORC 1 gene promoter is associated with warfarin sensitivity. This polymorphism may explain both inter-individual and interethnic differences in warfarin dose requirements. In addition, polymorphism is also associated with promoter activity. Thus, the sequence or activity of an individual's VKORC 1 gene promoter can be used to provide how much warfarin to prescribe for the individual. Relevant methods and compositions are provided.
