METHOD FOR PRODUCING A COMPOSITE FOOD PRODUCT CONTAINING INTEGRAL GRAINS, AND COMPOSITE FOOD PRODUCT CONTAINING INTEGRAL GRAINS. Composite food products containing shelf-stable whole grains, such as snack foods and sweet snacks and cereals, are continuously produced by preparing a paste which is composed of baking whole grain cereal particles in the presence of effective water for gelatinize the starch content of whole grain cereal particles to produce gelatinized whole grain cereal particles, and the mixture of starch gelatinized whole grain cereal particles, whole grain flour, optional minor pulp ingredients such as a fermentation agent, and a food component chosen from the group consisting of vegetables and fruits, effective for the preparation of the paste. Pulp is produced in distinct pulp units, which are cooked or fried to produce a nutritious, low-fat, multi-flavored composite whole grain food product and is a good source of dietary fiber.
