HIGH PURPOSE AND STABILITY COPPER HYDROXIDE PRODUCTION PROCESS FROM COPPER WIRE THREWING RESIDUES. The present invention relates to the process of producing high purity and stable copper (II) hydroxide from copper wire drawing residues. The hydroxide is in crystalline form, easily filterable and of high reactivity and purity, suitable for use as a fungicide and in the preparation of high purity copper compounds. The process solubilizes copper by the use of ammonia / ammonium carbonate leach solution, precipitates and separates the iron contained in solution with it in the oxidized state. Hydroxide is precipitated under controlled conditions using hydroxide protective covers such as sodium lignosulfonate and gelatin. Copper hydroxide can be dried at moderate temperatures while retaining the color of deep blue. The reagents are recirculated making the process environmentally sound.
