The invention refers to zootechny, particularly to the sheep selection.The new type of sheep Moldovan Karakul is created by crossing sheep of native breed Tsushka with Asian pure-bred Karakul sheep with subsequent “in itself” reproduction of the obtained genotypes. The animals are well developed; possess a solid constitution and the exterior typical of Karakul. The head is elongated with convex profile, long and loppy ears, the neck is long and strong, the back is straight or slightly convex, the tail is broad in the form of fatty tail with S-shaped tip, and the legs are strong and straight. Most of rams are hornless or with rudimentary horns, the ewes are all hornless and with well developed udder.The advantages of the new type consist in exceeding the yield of first-rate fells on average by 49.4% and in exceeding the live weight of rams on average by 50.5% and of ewes - by 22.7%.
