The invention relates to additions and improvements to a lid of the type used to prevent the means for dispensing a liquid from a feeding bottle from being contaminated by external agents. The invention includes a device which can be added to a conventional feeding bottle, formed by a pair of hinged arms that are secured at one end to the body of the bottle and at the other end to one of the two halves into which the modified lid is divided, such that each arm supports the corresponding lid half in a first position in which the teat is protected and a second use position in which the teat can be accessed by the user. In addition, each arm keeps each lid half close to the body of the bottle at a point intended for this purpose, so as to prevent lids from being misplaced and to improve the hygienic transport and dispensing conditions.
