The system has gear-hoist cables (44L, 44R) with movable pedals that are connected to a pedal mechanism, and double-drive mechanisms (48L, 48R) provided with an alternating neutral mechanism for enabling synchronization with the pedals. The gear-hoist cables provided at one end of hoist wheels (42L, 42R) are connected to the neutral mechanism, and frames (46L, 46R) are fixed on another end of the hoist wheels. The hoist wheels are moved to a trapper to transfer the driving force. The hoist cables are connected together via a free-flowing synchronization cable wheel (52). An independent claim is also included for a bicycle equipped with a propulsion system.
