Provided is a process for the production of an active substance skin patch, said process comprising: a) producing patches of differing colours comprising dyes and pigments; b) comparing the patches to colour charts or skin areas of a first, a second or any other person having CIELAB lightness colour values L1 and L2 in the range from S° to 100°, c) measuring the colour values of the CIELAB lightness of the patches lon the .colour charts or on the skin of the persons and determining the difference between L2 and L1 in each particular case; d) selecting those patches with a colour value of the lightness L1 which is not less than 50% and not more than 200% of the lightness colour value L2. Further provided are patches produced by the process.
