Calibrating a procedure gaze tracking system.

A method of calibrating a tracking system eye relative to an object, wherein the system gaze tracking includes a mounting eye tracking able to follow the movement of at least one eye of an operator and a sensor tracking head can follow the movement of a head of the operator, said method comprising the steps of representing a first reference point within the visual field of the operator for aligning a line of sight of at least one eye with the first reference point and establish a position of the head tracking sensor as a second reference position, wherein the aligning step occurs before moving the head tracking sensor; repeatedly moving the head tracking sensor to a plurality of different positions; measuring a position of at least one eye and an offset angle which is offset from a line of sight of at least one eye relative to one first reference point, and measuring the position of the head tracking sensor and an offset angle which is offset from the head tracking in relation to the second reference position, wherein measuring occurs for each of the plurality of different positions sensor; and calibrate the system gaze tracking based on the measured positions of the at least one eye, the offset angles of the at least one eye, the positions of the head tracking sensor and the offset angle sensor tracking head relative the second reference position.
