Method for trays (1) of multi-compartment food products, characterized in that it comprises the following steps: - positioning of at least two source (2, 3) close to each other such container elements, each having a edge (4) defining relative upper perimeters of each container element (2, 3); - removal from a rigid sheet (5) of portions thereof forming respective openings (5a, 5b) with corresponding perimeters matching the internal perimeters of each of the container elements (2, 3); - placing the sheet (5) over the two or more container elements (2, 3), covering at least the plan dimensions of the two container elements (2, 3) close to each other; - connection of the edges (4) of each of the container elements (2, 3) to the sheet (5) to form a single tray-like element (1).
