Use of a viral vector containing a polynucleotide encoding the phospholanban negative dominant S16E PLB mutant (PLB), which presents a serine to glutamic acid mutation in amino acid 16, when compared to the wild-type molecule, in the preparation of a medicine for the treatment of heart disease.
