The present invention pertains to a micro-crystalline beohmite containingadditive in a homogeneously dispersedstate. Suitable additives are compounds containing elements selected from thegroup of alkaline earth metals, alkaline metals, rareearth metals, transition metals, actinides, silicon, gallium, boron, titanium,and phosphorus. Said MCBs according to the inventionmay be prepared in several ways. In general, a micro-crystalline boehmiteprecursor and an additive are converted to amicro-crystalline boehmite containing the additive in a homogeneouslydispersed state. Also claimed are shaped particles and catalystcompositions comprising the as-prepared micro-crystalline boehmite.
