The invention relates to a method in a sheet metal working centre, wherein asheet (3) secured to mounting means of a moving carriage arrangement (2) inconnection with said sheet metal working centre is transferred in accordancewith a predetermined program substantially in the orthogonal coordinates X,Yin the main plane of the sheet (3) in order to carry out machinings or thelike directed to the sheet (3) by means of machining units or the like. Inaccordance with the invention at least two machining units or the like (4,11), performing different machinings or the like, are placed in the sheetmachine working centre, and the directions X of the orthogonal coordinates X,Y of the separate machining units or the like (4 to 11) are combined to acommon direction X comprising the whole sheet metal working centre.
