PORTRAIT GENERATING SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR GENERATING A PORTRAIT ACCORDING TO AN IMAGE

A portrait generating system and a method for generating a portrait according to an image. The portrait generating system comprises: a portrait database and a generating subsystem. The portrait database is used for storing part image sample information and its corresponding partial portrait unit according to classification. The generating subsystem is used for extracting geometrical characteristics from an input image, extracting each part image unit from the input image according to the extracted geometrical characteristics, and searching the part portrait unit corresponding to the part image sample which is most similar with the part imageunit from the portrait database, composing a portrait with all the part portrait units.
