Device for positioning a curing radiation source on an engraving cylinder or engraving plate holder, that can be applied to an engraving unit continuously forming a micro-relief that produces optical effects on a flexible laminate substrate, said engraving unit being able to use alternatively interchangeable engraving cylinders (1) with different diameters, there being a fixed distance between the external surface of engraving cylinder (1) and source (5) corresponding to focal distance (F) of said source, comprising at least one support element (6) mounted on shaft (7) or body of each interchangeable engraving cylinder (1), with at least one end stop (8) associated with a mobile support structure (9) of source (5) resting in an operative manner on support element (6), with the length of said end stop(s) (6) being fixed while the diameter of said support element (6) depends on the diameter of the corresponding interchangeable engraving cylinder (1), and is selected so that distance (F) between the source and the external surface of the cylinder is constant, regardless of the diameter of cylinder (1).
