Disclosed are: a screening method for finding a novel therapeutic agent for allergic airway inflammation and/or airway hypersensitivity; a therapeutic agent for allergic airway inflammation and/or airway hypersensitivity, which has a novel mechanism of action; various kinds of means which enable to develop the screening method and the therapeutic agent; and others. Specifically disclosed are: a method for screening a therapeutic agent for allergic airway inflammation and/or airway hypersensitivity, which is characterized by using an IL-17RB-positive NKT cell; a therapeutic agent for allergic airway inflammation and/or airway hypersensitivity, which comprises a substance capable of inhibiting or eliminating the Th2 cell-like function of an IL-17RB-positive NKT cell as an active ingredient.
