Rollover protection system for motor vehicles with a sensor-controlled, actively positioned rollover body

The system has a roll-over body (1) accommodated in a mounting plate (5) fixed to a vehicle, and a pre-tensioned drive for sensor-controlled positioning of the roll-over body from a rest position into a protection position. A locking device (7) for the roll-over body is positioned in the protection position. A rotatably supported latch arrangement (9c) pre-tensioned by a catch spring (8) comprises two arms (9a, 9b) extending over width of the roll-over body. The arms are rotatable in the protection position in direct active contact with corresponding supports at the roll-over body.
