A kind of method and apparatus are disclosed, for determining the STC mode bases in a given channel state in a receiver of a multiple input, multiple output wireless communication system. Correspondingly, estimated by using a channel capacity for determining STC modes, it estimates channel characteristic for this purpose, then it is determined as obtaining every STC mode-specific signal-to-noise ratio by channel estimation, by determining that the STC mode bases in channel capacity can detecte accurate data than most of considerations by the realization of STC mode-specifics signal-to-noise ratio, the characteristic of angular error and the decoding circuit being generated during actually realizing.
