METHOD AND DEVICE DETECT FACE USING AAM(ACTIVE APPEARANCE MODEL)

A face detecting method and a device of the same using AAM(Active Appearance Model) are provided to control a location and size of the Shape Model after detecting eye and mouth in a detected area after detecting a face area from an inputted image. An image in which a face is included is inputted to an input unit(410). A detection unit(420) detects a face contour and face features. A transform unit(430) converts the Shape Model based on a face contour and face features. An AAM searcher(440) searches face features in a face contour using the converted Shape Model. The AAM searcher performs an AAM search of the face contour based on the AAM searched face feature part. An output unit(450) outputs the AAM search result.
