A method for manufacturing dysprosium oxide nanoparticles and a dysprosium oxide nano-sol is provided to control the shape of several tens of nanometer-sized dysprosium oxide nanoparticles to obtain uniform dysprosium oxide nanoparticles. A method for manufacturing dysprosium oxide nanoparticles comprises the following steps of: dissolving dysprosium salt in a solvent to obtain a dysprosium salt solution; dipping an organic polymer(100) having nano-sized pores(110) in the dysprosium salt solution; and heating the organic polymer with the dysprosium salt solution until the organic polymer is calcined. The dysprosium salt solution represents dysprosium nitrate(Dy(NO3)2) solution. The concentration of the dysprosium nitrate solution is 5 wt% - 15 wt%.
