A method for blocking and detecting low impedance arc discharge of a circuit breaker for a low voltage is provided to rapidly block a circuit breaker by detecting permanent or temporary short circuit in a voltage distribution system on a real time. An arc current detecting part(110) detects an arc discharge current in a conductive wire of a circuit. A signal converting part(120) generates a signal in proportion to an arc discharge current component detected by the arc current detecting part. The signal converting part comprises a resistor, a capacitor, and an inductor. A trip circuit part(130) blocks a power supplied to the circuit according to the signal received from the signal converting part. The trip circuit part is operated by a pulse voltage more than 1V and a pulse width of 1~10ms. The trip circuit part comprises a thyristor and a relay.
