PURPOSE: An impact absorbing headrest equipped with a proximity sensor is provided to reduce the damage of a neck in a collision accident by reducing the interval between a headrest and a head.;CONSTITUTION: In an impact absorbing headrest, a proximity sensor is installed to automatically maintain the regular interval between a headrest and a head. The impact absorbing headrest includes a folding type air bag, a flow hole, and a recovering apparatus. The proximity sensor and air are filled in the folding type air bag to regularly maintain the interval between the head and the headrest. The air is flowed in and out through the flow hole.
