PURPOSE: An apparatus and a method for the inspection of a flat display are provided to improve the reliability of an inspection device by preventing the misjudgment caused by a foreign material attached to the surface of a flat display.;CONSTITUTION: A pattern generator(120) includes a lighting processor(110) that irradiates a light onto a flat display. An image camera(130) photographs the flat display onto which the light is irradiated, and an image processor(140) extracts a coordinates of a foreign material.
