A method of controlling a hybrid vehicle equipped with an adaptive cruise control system is provided to prevent unnecessary fuel consumption by the idle stop entry time, improve the vehicle fuel ratio accordingly, and reduce the speed of the vehicle through the regenerative braking. A method of controlling a hybrid vehicle equipped with an adaptive cruise control system comprises a step of determining whether it is necessary to stop a driver car or not if an ACC(Adaptive Cruise Control) system senses the stop of a preceding car while performing the control of an inter-vehicle distance, a step of requesting an idle stop entry if it is determined that stopping of the driver car is necessary, and a step of allowing an engine to stop the fuel injection before the speed of the driver car reaches the stopped state by enabling a hybrid controller to request an engine to immediately stop the fuel injection according to the request of the idle stop entry from the ACC system.
