METHOD OF OPERATIVE TREATMENT OF ABSCESSES AND PHLEGMONS OF SUBMASSETERIC SPACE

FIELD: medicine.;SUBSTANCE: invention concerns maxillofacial surgery and can be applied in surgical treatment of submasseteric space abscesses and phlegmons. Skin cut is performed in mandibular space between front edge of nodding muscle and back edge of mandible ramus. Capsule of the parotid gland is cut from the nodding muscle. Low-back segment of parotid gland is shifted up and to the front. Back edge of mandible ramus is exposed. Parotid gland fascia is dissected along back external edge of mandible ramus. Mastication muscle tendon is dissected at mastication tuberosity of mandible at the length of 8-10 mm. Mastication muscle is shifted forward and outwards. Cellular space between external surface of mandible ramus and internal surface of mastication muscle is split above point of mastication muscle attachment to mandible tuberosity. Purulence is evacuated, with further operation wound treatment by antiseptic solutions and drainage by tubular gauntlet drainages.;EFFECT: reduced risk of edge facial nerve branch and of contracture development in post-operation period.;2 ex, 9 dwg_; 1 tbl
